The International Academy of Osteopathy is a service provider recognised by the Flemish Community in the context of the kmo-portefeuille. This means that the Flemish government reimburses part of your osteopathy training. In addition, our training courses entitle you to educational leave. Paid educational leave is a right that is granted to full-time employees and to certain part-time employees in the private sector. This right enables him or her to follow certain training courses while retaining his or her normal salary.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I have to take exams?

Yes and no. This depends on the chosen education program. If you follow the courses without taking exams, you’ll just receive a certificate of attendance. In order to receive a PGCert in Sports Osteopathy, you’ll have to take and pass one practical exam per year, and have to write an essay on a clinical case. The MSc.Ost. diploma goes with the same assignments, plus a dissertation.

Do I have to make a dissertation?

That depends on the chosen education program. You’ll receive an official PGCert in Sports Osteopathy once you’ve attended all the courses and successfully passed the exams. The unique MSc.Ost. diploma is only granted by Bucks University once you’ve written and defended an additional dissertation.

Are there any entry requirements?

This education is only open for graduated osteopaths, with a DO-title as a minimum. Since the entire education is in English, a B2 level of the English language is expected. For Belgian osteopaths, the BVBO requires us to have an approval number, starting with 090/095 or to be an “in-transition” member.

Is it possible to attend a single course?

No. Since this education is part of an official PGCert. and/or MSc.Ost. program, Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL) cannot be given for part of a module. Therefore, it is only possible to subscribe year per year.

Am I obliged to finish the education in two years?

No, we find it important that you can do your studies at your own pace. However, Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL) cannot be given for part of a module. Therefore, it is only possible to subscribe year per year.

In which language does this training take place?

The training will be taught in English. In this way, as a participant, you have the opportunity to follow the modules both in Belgium and in Denmark, depending on your availability.
